Canoeing in Texas

While I made these pages for me and my friends cause we live here and need the information periodically, you're welcome to peruse as you desire. Hopefully it's helpful. If you want, tell me information that's missing or should be included, and I'll post it.

Texas - Information by River

Arkansas

Arkansas has more consistent whitewater than Texas. Has some beautiful places, too. I did the Mulberry and Big Piney Creek, but didn't keep any of the information. Someday I'll bug my buddy to put it down for me and I'll include it.

Texas River Flows for 5 Levels of Paddling
I pulled the river flow information below on this page from the original page at CanoeTX and added some linked material (highlighted in purple) from these fine providers of information (thanks very much to them)
  • Min = Minimum water available for floating; some portaging or lining through shallows may be necessary.
  • Good = Satisfactory water conditions; no lining necessary.
  • Ideal = Ideal water conditions for floating.
  • Haz = Water level approaching hazardous conditions. Highly experienced boaters like these levels.
  • Max = Maximum water flows; for experts only. Highly experienced boaters love these levels.
